【摘要】:Thetermx201C;referencex201D;asemployedinthispracticeimpliesthateithertheglassorthemetalofthereferenceglass-metalsealwillbeax201C;standardreferencematerialx201D;suchasthosesuppliedforotherphysicaltestsbytheNationalInstituteforStandardsandTechnology(NIST),orasecondaryreferencematerialwhosesealingcharacteristicshavebeendeterminedbysealstoastandardreferencematerial.UntilstandardreferencematerialsforsealsareestablishedbytheNIST,secondaryreferencematerialsmaybeagreeduponbetweenmanufacturerandpurchaser.1.1Thispracticecoversthepreparationandtestingofreferenceglass-metalbuttsealsoftwogeneralconfigurations:oneapplicabletodeterminingstressintheglassandtheothertodeterminingthedegreeofmismatchofthermalexpansion(orcontraction).TestsareinaccordancewithTestMethodF218(Section1.1).1.2Thispracticeappliestoallglassandmetal(oralloy)combinationsnormallysealedtogetherintheproductionofelectroniccomponents.Itshouldnotbeattemptedwithglass-metalcombinationshavingwidelydivergentthermalexpansion(orcontraction)properties.
