【摘要】:Thispracticerecognizesthattheeffectiveperformanceofinstalledfenestrationproductsisdependentinpartuponfollowingproperinstallationproceduresandappropriateworkmanship.Thispracticerecognizesthatthecoordinationoftradesandpropersequencingareessentialforeffectivefenestrationinstallation.Thegeneralcontractorshallberesponsibleforthenecessarycoordinationoftradesandproperconstructionsequencingoftheinstalledfenestrationproduct.Improperinstallationofunitscontributestoexcessiveair,waterandsoundleakage,andcondensation.Itmaypromotethedeteriorationofwallconstructions,insulation,fenestrationproducts,andtheirrespectivefinishes.Thispracticepresumesaworkingknowledgeofapplicablefederal,state,andlocalcodesandregulations;specifically,butnotlimitedtorequiredmeansofegress,requirementsforsafetyglazingmaterials,andstructuralrequirementsofapplicablecodes.Thispracticepresumesaworkingknowledgeofthetools,equipment,andmethodsnecessaryfortheinstallationofspecifiedfenestrationproducts.Itfurtherassumesfamiliaritywithflashingandsealing,glazingprocedures,finisheswhereapplicable,andanunderstandingofthefundamentalsofconstructionthataffecttheinstallationoftheseunits.Thispracticepresumesthattheproductsthathavebeenfurnishedfortheinstallationandtheirlocationswithinthestructurecomplywithalltheapplicablebuildingcodesandregulations.1.1Thispracticecoverstheinstallationoffenestrationproductsinnewandexistingconstruction.Forthepurposeofthispractice,fenestrationproductsshallbelimitedtowindows,slidingpatio-typedoors,swingingpatiotypedoors,andskylights,asusedprimarilyinresidentialandlightcommercialbuildings.1.2Thispracticeassumesthattheinstallerpossessesbasicwoodworkingskillsandanunderstandingofwallandroofconstruction,sheetmetalwork,andjointsealantpractices.1.3ThispracticeattemptstoinstructandfamiliarizetheinstallerwiththeconceptsofbothBarrierSystemsandMembrane/DrainageSystems,inordertoensurethecontinuityofthebuildingenvelope.Thispracticeattemptstoeducatetheinstaller,builder,architect,andotherusersintheidentificationandunderstandingofthewatersheddingsystemofthebuildingenvelope.1.4Thispracticecoverstheinstallationprocessfrompre-installationproceduresthroughpost-installationprocedures,forsingleunitsorfactory-mulledmultipleunitsinasingleopening.Itdoesnotcoverthefabricationorassemblyofmultipleunits,whethersuchfabricationtakesplaceinafactoryorattheintendedinstallationsite.Theinstallershouldcheckwiththemanufactureroffactory-assembledunitsforinstructionsforanchoring.Whenusingfield-mulledunits,followmanufacturer''srecommendationsandmakecertainthattheymeetapplicablecodes.Thispracticedoesnotcovertheselectionofappropriatefenestrationproductsforagivenapplication,northeselectionofotherproductsorsystemsforuseintheinstallation.1.5Thispracticeprovidesminimumrequirementsthatwillhelptoaccomplishtheinstallationoffenestrationproductsinaneffectivemanner.Actualconditionsinbuildingsvarygreatlyand,insomecases,substantialadditionalprecautionsmayberequired.Intheeventthatthemanufacturer''sinstallationinstructionsprovidedwiththeproductconflictwithrequirementsofthispractice,themanufacturer''sinstructionsshallprevail.Thispracticeisnotintendedtolimitorexcludeothernewproceduresthatmayrefineorfurtherimprovetheeffectivenessoffenestrationinstallation.1.5.1Thispracticeisintendedtobeusedforbackgroundinformationinordertodeveloptrainingm......
